About DragonSword Guide

Last updated 2026-08-10

DragonSword Guide covers DragonSword: Awakening — mainly its combat system, because that is the part players consistently get wrong and the part most guides describe inaccurately.

Why we started with combat

DragonSword: Awakening runs on a tag-team model: Active Skills apply Status Ailments, Signal Skills detonate them, and Switching Signals hand the chain between Heroes. Play it like a normal action RPG and it still functions — you just do a fraction of the damage, and nothing on screen tells you that is what is happening.

Most of the coverage we found treated it as a standard party game with an unusual skill naming scheme. It is not, and that gap is why this site exists.

Where our information comes from

At the foot of every guide sits a Sources checked box naming exactly which materials that page leans on. Our evidence ranking, in order: Hound13 Inc.'s published material and the Steam listing first, community documentation second and labelled as such, our own play third and labelled as such.

This matters more than usual for DragonSword: Awakening. It released on 22 July 2026, and community Hero lists disagree with each other on ability details. When two sources conflict and neither is the developer, we say they conflict rather than picking the one that reads better.

What we will not print

Numbers we cannot trace. That means no full recipe table, no complete per-Hero ability lists, and no tier ranking. Tier lists in particular are the easiest page on this site to write and the hardest to defend — a confident ranking built on unverified kit data is just an opinion wearing a table.

Who writes it

Independent players, not Hound13 Inc. No review copies, no early access, no editorial input from the studio. This is not an official channel and is not endorsed by them.

Sending a correction

Email hello@dragonsword.site or use the contact page. Include the page and ideally where the correct information comes from. Corrections take priority over everything else we do, because a wrong page costs a reader more than a missing one.

How this is paid for

Advertising, plus retailer affiliate links where relevant — the site is free to read and there is no subscription. Commercial arrangements do not affect what goes in a guide; pages carrying affiliate links disclose it. What advertising stores on your device is set out in the privacy policy.
