Editorial Policy
This page is the contract behind every guide on DragonSword Guide: where information comes from, how it gets checked, what happens when we get something wrong, and how the site is funded.
The sourcing hierarchy
Every fact on this site is traceable to one of three tiers, and each guide's Sources checked box says which tier it came from:
- Developer material. Hound13 Inc.'s patch notes, official notices and the Steam listing. This is the only tier we quote as settled fact.
- Community documentation — player-maintained lists and long-standing forum threads. Used and always labelled as community-sourced. Where two community sources disagree, we print the disagreement rather than silently choosing one.
- Our own play. Observations from our own sessions, labelled as such. Useful for how systems feel; never used to assert exact numbers.
Numbers we could not trace to any of these tiers do not appear. A gap on the page is deliberate.
Dates, not vibes
Every guide carries a Last updated date, and time-sensitive pages (the patch tracker, hero data) state the exact date they were last verified against the live game. DragonSword: Awakening patches frequently — a guide checked against 1.0.7 can be quietly wrong by 1.0.10 — so the date is part of the information, not decoration.
Corrections
When we find an error, we correct the page and note the correction inline where it materially changes advice ("an earlier version of this page said X"). We do not silently rewrite history on claims readers may have acted on. Found an error yourself? The contact page reaches a human who plays the game.
What we refuse to publish
No invented ability values, no drop rates nobody measured, no "confirmed" labels on rumors, and no republishing of other sites' unsourced tables. Several claims about DragonSword: Awakening circulate widely with no primary source — our policy is to name the uncertainty instead of laundering it into fact.
Advertising and independence
DragonSword Guide is funded by display advertising. Advertisers have no influence over what we cover or conclude; no guide is sponsored content, and if that ever changes the page will say so at the top. Advertising details, including the networks involved and your choices, are in the privacy policy.
Relationship to Hound13 Inc.
None. DragonSword Guide is an independent fan project with no affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement from Hound13 Inc. Game names and imagery belong to their owners — see the disclaimer.
