DragonSword Awakening Cooking Guide: How the System Works

Last verified 2026-08-07

Cooking is a real progression system, not set dressing. The official description puts it alongside solving residents' problems as part of "where everyday life becomes an adventure" — you combine ingredients found across the Continent of Orbis to create new dishes.

The strongest evidence that it matters is behavioural: dedicated community cooking guides appeared on Steam within days of launch, in multiple languages. Players do not write recipe compendiums for systems that do not pay off.

What is confirmed

  • Ingredients are found across the continent, so exploration feeds cooking
  • Combining them creates new dishes
  • Cooking sits alongside the resident-request system as a core everyday-life loop

How to approach it early

  1. Pick up everything. Ingredients are exploration rewards; you will not know what a recipe needs before you find it.
  2. Do not ignore it while learning combat. The two systems are on different tracks, and cooking output is the kind of thing that quietly makes fights easier.
  3. Check what residents want. The resident-problem loop and the cooking loop are described together for a reason.

Still to verify

We have not published a recipe list. Recipe pages are the most-copied and most-wrong content in any game wiki, because it is easy to transcribe a list badly and impossible for a reader to tell.

The community has produced recipe documentation — there is an "All Cooking Recipes" guide on Steam and a Russian-language recipe guide — and we are verifying against those plus in-game testing before publishing anything. What ingredients each dish needs, what buffs dishes give, and how long those buffs last are all unconfirmed here for now.
